season 3 - planning

I was dong the production design & SFX sheet I couldn't finish it yet because we didn't know if we were going to use lightening or the actual locations, we weren't sure if we wanted to film our side or not now.
Curtis was still doing the script, by the end of the day Curtis finished a rough run through of the script but still got to go over it to correct spelling mistakes and errors and to add more.

Season 2 - planning

For our season 2 we were still planning, but i was filling in the location sheet and the shot lists when tom finishes doing the story board and curtis was starting on the script.
For our locations we thought we should just film it in doors all the time and in the same block but make it look like we filmed it in a different building. For the shot lists me and tom basically worked together on the storyboard and curtis helped us we thought what would go with action, and what angle would look the best.

Season 1 - planning

Season 1 for our hunted project, We got in to our groups and started talking about what our hunted protect should be, We all write down some ideas what it should be about. then we did some mood bored about what is based on our project.

Bomb Sequence

The bomb sequence is the last sequence to our short film.

2P1 Josh B - 'BOMB!' SHORT FILM 2012 from Long Road Applied Media Diploma on Vimeo.

In this we had to switch people because we couldn't use the same people to say to the other person to defuse the bomb.
And we had to go back to our old group because our team mate was back from being ill.
We needed to also film an action sequence for this sequence wall a soundtrack what I made in garage band.
I had fun doing all the sequences and it tested who was the best using the camera and the best for doing the acting.

The meeting Sequence

The meeting sequence carries on after the phone call sequence, in the scene you will see the agent and the boss talking about the bomb and where to place it.

It is quite a short scene but we needed to add it in so it'll make sense for the whole sequence. We learned about the 180 rule and used it in the scene, we only used three camera spots. One facing the door the other one looking over the agent should at the boss and the other one looking over the bosses shoulder at the agent. The 180 rule is where one characters talks then it switches from them talking to looking at the other person talking but looks like they are switching positions. If you break the 180 rule it looks like they are teleporting all over the place.

Initial Ideas

For our Hunted protect we had to write what we wanted to do for our protects, we thought of hunger games at first of someone being hunted but then we thought wouldn't a guy being hunted by the government be another good idea but better.
So we gave ideas in the group who's the 'guy' who's being hunted by the government should be, so we liked the idea of a fraudulent hacker and a pedophile but we didn't like the pedophile bit at the end.
so then we write some other ideas about the guy like if his on the run or dangerous.

Phone Call Sequence

This was one of our sequence to our final piece.

2P1 PHONECALL EXERCISE - Josh B from Long Road Applied Media Diploma on Vimeo.

This was the first time we got let out with the cameras to record a number of clips, but before we got let out we got into groups and started talking about how we should do this and what we should say and where we should record it. We had to a clip board but on a piece of paper telling up what way to look and what shot it was

Then we went out and recorded all the clips then we went back to called and we only meant to have 18 clips but we ended up with 140 odd, we had so many out takes it was unbelievable. We went on final cut and uploaded our footage on there and from there on we edited all the clips in order what we got given. (pink sheet under the yellow one)
We had to make sure it ran smoothly all the way through. We had fun doing the sequence and editing it all together

Horror still task

The horror still task is basically a practise to learn all the shot angles EG: Low shot, long shot, mid shot, over the shoulder shot

2P1 HORROR STILLS - Josh-Be from Long Road Applied Media Diploma on Vimeo.

We first had to do a story board about what its about and we had to do 10 shots with all different shot angles and had to write in the picture what the shot angle is.

This is the first time we got let out with a camera so Steve basically tested us so we knew how to use all the shot angles and how to use the camera's. Once we took all the pictures we went back to class and back on the macs and uploaded them to our macs. Then we edited some on photoshop so we can put our brush's and shapes to a proper task. so we added blood to some pictures and scars and some other little effects. Then we put them onto final cut and put them all together and this was the second time we used final cut so we were still quite new to the software. If I went to do them now i would be more experience with Final Cut

Ident

This is my animated logo. Took a while to make but it was fun while doing it.
I use this at the beginning of every video i make.

2P1 Josh B - IDENT from Long Road Applied Media Diploma on Vimeo.

I made this in Final Cut, I had to separate every layer so it was all editable so I can animate what I wanted to animate, After doing that we got learned how to move the layers or add effects to them eg: Fades, Black and white, Rotation and more.

I could of done better if I had more time and knew how to use final cut better, if I made it after knowing final cut I would of produced it better

Logo

This is my logo, I made this in photoshop as one of my practise's, and I've already used photoshop before and i know quite a few tricks on it.
On my logo i used the pen tool which i learnt my self how to use. I added some lightening brush's and added a brick effect on the 'J' and 'M'. i thought it looked okay but i could add a few more things on to it, i was happy with the ending results.

Target audience diagram

This is the target audience what we did. Basically it's for us to know what the purpose of audience is, Audience is the people who reads, buy's, watch or listens to.

Every product is aimed at audience, so we got told to make a diagram for us what are our favorite things are. Every product is always looking at the audience and see who will buy it, sell it(other shops) of advertise it

Are you normal test

We did a test which was called are you normal, which the questions freaked me out they were just pictures i didn't really get it but i answered it and i got this result which it isn't right, i don't get how i'm that. But it was quite a good test i enjoyed it but it did freak me out a bit

FindYourTribe

We did this test on FindYourTribe and it tells you who you are, i thought it wouldn't be accurate because i like rock, heavy metal and screamo music and that i like to go online like facebook and youtube and ps3. So i thought it would say i'm an emo but it told me what i am actually a Skater, i was quite impressed with the outcome.

This is my brush's practise, i used different brush's then i just added some effects to it so they stand out and look alot better. On the background i added clouds on it, then the stars i just added an outline around it and added some other effects. i liked the stars and the arrows the best because they stand out and make it look powerful for the image

shape examples

I tried out some shapes that i download, some i found quite nice and some i hated. i just added some effects to them because i found them look them plain so i had to add some drop shadows to them and some other effects.

Front practice

This is just a practice of different front's that i found online, I downloaded them and tried them out and my favorite ones are the purple one and the blue one's.
I added some effects to some of them so they would look nicer like drop shadow and bevel and emboss.

Club Flyer

This is my club flyer work.
We basically just get two images (sea lion and dubstep cat) then i added headphones to both of them. once I've done that i added an lens effect to my picture. It makes it look like it's the sun because its shining onto to Sea lion, so it thought it was effective.

Then i just added the name which i couldn't think of any so i just done Club Ravor, then i just done some other information like the age range and how much it is and what's available like food and drink wise and band wise

Earth & Eye work

This is my Earth and Eye photoshop work.
We basically got picture of an eye and earth, then we cropped the earth because it had an black background. once we done that we put the earth in the middle of the eye, then we made the earth to mode 'overlay' so it become transparent.
